Peppermint Citrus Soap with Sheep Milk

One of good ways to rebatch good, but not good looking soap is to make confetti soap!
I made this soap two months ago, looking forward to use it in these super hot days.

This time I used sheep milk instead of water. I can´t tell the difference between goat´s milk soap and sheep´s milk soap. This one is nice creamy and smells great! It supposed to be just mojito mix (peppermint and lime) but I didn´t have so much of these oils, so I had to improvise and wualaaa there is great smelling soap 😊

Recipe:

!Safety
Gloves, goggles, long sleeves, ventilated area. When splashing lye water or fresh soap on skin rinse the area with tapped water for 15 min.
Process:
  • Before you start, freeze your milk (ice cube tray) and shred the soap (doesn´t have to be two months old, it will cure again with the fresh soap)

  • Weight all the ingredients
  • Slowly add sodium hydroxide to the frozen milk cubes and stir till it all dissolves (this can take some time, be patient 😊 )

  • Melt the oils and butters and let cool for the temperature around 30 ℃ (I mostly soap with room temperature oils)
  • Slowly add the lye milk in your oils and stick blend to thin trace
  • Add essential oils, whisk once again
  • Split the batch into two parts 1:3 and 2:3, to the smaller part add titanium dioxide, dispersed in bit of oil and to the bigger one- add green oxide premixed in oil and shredded soap (at this stage the soap should look like pudding, so the confetti don´t flow only to the bottom of the mould)
  • Pour the first green layer of the soap into mould, tap the mould on the table to prevent air bubbles

  • On this layer put the second one, slowly with spoon, so they don´t get mixed
  • Put it in the fridge to prevent gel phase
  • Unmould after 24-48 hours and cut
  • Let cure for 6-8 weeks before using

What I can tell about this soap- it´s nice hard, makes nice small bubbles and produces creamy milk lather and of course it smells amazing! And I´m happy to reuse my old soap to produce something (hopefully) nicer  😄

Will you try this summer refreshment?
