Strawberry Jojoba Beads Face Scrub

Does it sometimes happen to you that you are trying some new things and the results end in trash? It happens to me quite regularly now while trying to make up some new stuff 😃 well, and then...and then there comes the moment when I mix something with something and add another something and there is a great recipe! and this face scrub is a great recipe!

I have to tell I´m finally getting into making emulsions (for those who don´t know yet what emulsion is- it is a mix of water and oil with emulsifier) and less of them are ending separated in the trash bins.

This peeling is very gentle, that´s why I recommend it (only) for face (also it´s bit more pricey and not so easy for beginners)
Let´s start!

Recipe for 200ml:

Process:

  • Disinfect all the tools you are using- with at least 60% alcohol or boil in water
  • In one container weigh water and hydrosol, in the second one- coconut oil, olive oil and emulsifying wax and heat both to 70 ℃ (max. 80℃)

  • When both have the right temperature, slowly add water into the oils and mix. To speed up cool down phase put the container in cold water and mix till 40℃ (mini mixer or milk froth are great helpers)

  • Weigh the strawberry powder and rose clay and add to the emulsion

  • In the end add jojoba beads, xylitol and preservative and you are done!
This scrub is a bomb!

Strawberry powder smells amazing and contains vitamins A and C, phosphorus, iron and calcium. Clay is rich on minerals and perfectly cleans the skin.
Manuka Honey is floral water, which has antiseptic, soothing and healing properties (even though I´m bit afraid what does the high temperature makes with it)

If you want your scrub more exfoliating add sugar, poppy seeds or crushed apricot seeds. I wouldn´t use salt for face.

In the end I would like to review the "naturalness" of this product, because suddenly so many cosmetic products are marked as natural.
This scrub is not natural! It contains water, that´s why you have to use preservative. As substitute for emulsifying wax you can use bee wax with soya lecithin.

However if you are still the one who thinks he is buying all natural products as creams, shampoos or conditioners... I will disappoint you, it contains preservative because it contains water.
There are companies to decide if that or this ingredient is natural and can be used in natural-bio-... cosmetic even though it´s synthetically made. But I will leave this subject for some other post 😊

Let me know if you like the recipe for the scrub and if you will try it! 😉
Wish you all great day!
