Exfoliating Poppy Seed Milk Soap

...and there is another week again and another recipe with it 😊
This time I´m bringing you recipe for the great exfoliating two tone soap with poppy seeds. This soap has amazing lather it´s my another TOP.
The combination of essential oils could seem like to heavy, but it´s soooo nice.

I finally did nice layers in soap! The key is to pour the first layer in light to medium trace and wait for a while before pouring the second one. You can slightly touch it with finger and when it feels bit solid, it´s time for the second layer. To make nice waves, the trace has to be more thicker. If you pour it too liquid you have to wait and do to top with spoon later. (well not too late 😁)

The recipe:

!Safety
Gloves, goggles, long sleeves, ventilated area. When splashing lye water or fresh soap on skin rinse the area with tapped water for 15 min.
Process:
  • Before you start, freeze your milk (ice cube tray

  • Weight all the ingredients
  • Slowly add sodium hydroxide to the frozen milk cubes and stir till it all dissolves (this can take some time, be patient 😊 )

  • Melt the oils and butters when necessary and let cool for the temperature around 38 ℃ (I mostly soap with room temperature oils)
  • Slowly add the lye milk in your oils and stick blend to thin trace
  • Add essential oil, whisk once again
  • Split the batch into two parts, add mica (dispersed in bit of oil) and poppy seeds to the first one and titanium dioxide (dispersed in bit of oil) to the other part, whisk to light trace
  • Pour the first blue layer of the soap into mould, tap the mould on the table to prevent air bubbles and wait for a while before pouring the second layer to prevent mixing of the layers
  • Pour the second layer (do not tap anymore, because the layers can get mixed), make the waves with spoon
  • Sprinkle the top with poppy seeds
  • Put it in the fridge to prevent gel phase (we have so cold windows even from the inside, so I just leave the soap on the sill)
  • Unmould after 24-48 hours
  • Let cure for 6-8 weeks
There is also picture of the milky lather, it´s sooo great!
What do you say? Will you give it a try? 😊
